Since 1834 when Tulane University was established by seven idealistic physicians who were determined to make New Orleans a more vibrant and healthy city, Tulane has been a powerful force in the community.

Today the traditions of reaching out to friends and neighbors continues through the university's Division of External Affairs. From helping alumni stay in touch to licensing technology developed by university researchers, to fundraising, strategic planning and communicating the university's accomplishments, External Affairs presents Tulane to the world.
