Visiting Tulane

We welcome your visit to Tulane University! The Tulane University Travel Portal has information about flights, travel agencies, car rentals and more. It also features a map showing locations of preferred hotels.

The uptown campus is located in New Orleans on St. Charles Avenue in a historic residential district where architectural styles run from humble Creole cottages to impressive Greek Revival mansions. Located across the street from Tulane is Audubon Park, 400 acres that encompass tennis courts, golf courses, jogging and bicycle paths, horse stables, the Audubon Zoo and some of the most magnificent live oaks you'll ever see. Parking can be difficult around the campus but if you do choose to drive, directions are available.

Visitors to the uptown campus can take part in information sessions and tours offered by the undergraduate admission office, Monday through Friday during most of the calendar year and on Saturday mornings during the school year. Be sure to inquire about special opportunities to sit in on a class, or plan special campus appointments in advance of your visit. For more information, please call the Office of Undergraduate Admission at 800-873-WAVE.

The downtown health sciences campus is in the heart of the medical district of New Orleans. The School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is located at 1440 Canal Street. The School of Medicine occupies newly renovated space in 1555 Poydras, as well as the historic Hutchinson Memorial Building across from the Tulane Medical Center on Tulane Avenue. The J. Bennett Johnston Building is home to numerous health sciences research centers. The campus map shows where parking garages are located, and directions to the campus are also online.

The School of Continuing Studies offers classes at  campuses in Harahan, La., and Biloxi, Miss., to serve the needs of New Orleans area and Gulf Coast residents.
